Just wanted to remind everyone that on Monday, October 19th, 2020, UACCB will be here at Concord to present "filling out your FAFSA." This is the free application for federal student aid. We encourage all seniors and one parent/guardian to attend. You can come anytime between 3:30 and 6:00 p.m. We will meet in Ms Griffis' room, so we ask that you use the entrance closest to the gym. You will want to bring your social security number, federal income tax information, and an FSA ID to sign the FAFSA electronically. If you don't have an FSA ID, we can get you one that evening. If you have any questions please contact Mr Tarver. Hope to see you there!

A great day of learning in preschool! Mud Play is important for children to develop and practice their fine and gross motor skills, increase awareness of their senses, particularly touch, improve hand/ eye coordination and develop their social and emotional skills, including taking turns and leading/following directions.

This is just a reminder that Concord Schools will start its Blended Learning Fridays this Friday October 9th. This will allow students to work virtually from home on Fridays. As long as they complete the virtual work assigned to them, they will not be counted absent. Please find the Blended Learning Friday Parent Questionnaire link below. If you have not already filled it out, please do. We are trying to figure out how many students will be on campus. Also, there is a link that goes over many frequently asked questions. Starting tomorrow (Friday, October 2), we will be allowing students to pay a dollar and wear their hats. This will continue all next week (October 5-9) as well. The money collected will be donated to the Warden family from Midland Schools to help with medical expenses after their car accident. Three cousins are in the hospital at Batesville and UAMS indefinitely. We want to support the family members of our community as we have relatives of these boys who attend Concord Schools. High school students can pay their money to Mrs. Harlan, Mrs. Strother, or Mrs. York. We will be stamping your hand in Mrs. Strother's classroom as proof that you paid. Elementary students will pay their classroom teachers. Thank you!!

Pirate Family The Concord School District will offer blended learning days on Fridays each week, beginning next Friday, October 9th. “Blended Fridays” give parents/students the option of learning from home or school. Students who choose to learn from home on Fridays will not be counted absent as long as assignments are submitted. Instruction on blended Fridays will be 100% virtual. These are days that allow our students an opportunity to review previous instruction and check for understanding: there will be no new content taught or major assessments given. Concord Schools is making this change primarily to help ease the burden on our students. We have listened and we trust the feedback received from our teachers and students: the amount of work required with our current model of instruction is not sustainable. Blended Fridays will give teachers protected time for the added tasks that have come with this unusual school year, and are designed to bring relief to everyone: parents, students, and staff. This is a hard time for all of us. We hope this will help. The District will be sending out a Blended Learning Parent Questionnaire through social media on Wednesday, September 30th. Please take time to fill out this online survey. This will help us make future decisions for our students. We understand you may have questions about how this will look. There will be a Blended Friday Frequently Asked Questions document on the District website. This will answer many questions you might have. Survey Link Below https://forms.gle/LePLi8Tx4DAMxHu46

Dear Pirate Family, Over the past few weeks I’ve spent several hours and days reflecting and praying over our students, teachers, staff, and families. We are all in uncharted waters and at times it seems the storm is just too powerful and the fear is just too much. But as I spent time discussing the times with my children at home I was reminded that even in the midst of the most powerful storm on the horizon is the most beautiful future awaiting. We can never truly prepare for the unknown but look forward to the future reflecting on the past and all that we learned along the way. I hope and pray no matter what is going on in your life today that you know the sun is on the horizon and we are constantly lifting you up and we are here for you no matter what your going through. We are not perfect and we will make mistakes, but we are all in this together. We may not be family in the sense of living in the same house, but we are a Pirate family and family is there through the storm no matter the past. My top priority has always been and will always be our students and We will never stop evaluating what is best for them. We love you and hang in there tomorrow is on its way!!
