Pirate Family, As many of you may already know, the Governor released an update yesterday in regards to quarantining students and staff considered to be probable close contacts of COVID-19. Previously, a probable close contact was considered anyone who had been within 3 feet of someone who tests positive for COVID-19 for fifteen minutes or more. The health department required districts to quarantine those individuals for a minimum of 5 days and could last for up to 10. The Arkansas Department of Health as well as the Department of Education have lifted quarantine requirements for those considered to be probable close contacts for K-12 schools. That decision has now been left up to the districts to decide. Concord Schools has made the decision to no longer contact trace to send home probable close contacts (both students and faculty). This decision was reached primarily due to the fact that over 90% of our students that have been sent home as probable close contacts have not contracted COVID-19 due to school exposure. Simply put, previous requirements from the ADH were causing us to send home healthy students. This caused a lot of students to miss crucial instruction, meals, and socialization. Those who test positive for COVID-19 will still adhere to the current guidelines. The changes are only for probable close contacts. We still plan on notifying parents if their child is a close contact to someone who tests positive. This will let them make the decision if they want to send their child to school or keep them at home. It also allows them to monitor their child for symptoms. The District will still adhere to social distancing as well as sanitizing our facilities on a daily basis. We are still going to do all we can to keep our students safe and keep them in school. K-12 students and staff who are currently under quarantine as probable close contacts (not positive cases) will be allowed to return to school starting tomorrow. I am confidant this is one giant step closer to getting back to some normalcy. Thank you, Travis Fletcher Superintendent

The District is wanting feedback from its parents regarding the potential to move to a 4 day school week for the start of the 2022-2023 school year. A decision has not been made, and we are wanting to hear from you. Below you will find the "CSD 4 Day Week Information Page". Please make sure to carefully read the document. It will answer many questions you might have. Within the document there is a link to a "Parent Survey". It is extremely important that you complete this survey.
