Concord School District Important Updates: April 8, 2020

Good afternoon!! First, and most importantly, we hope you are all doing well, staying safe, and taking time to enjoy your families. To say we miss our students is an understatement. We cannot wait to see all of those sweet faces again!!

We are trying our very best to keep you updated with the latest information. Please understand, things are changing daily as we deal with this pandemic. We understand you have questions and concerns. Please read the following items. Hopefully, some questions will be answered and you will have a resource for any unanswered questions.

  • Helpline: The Concord School District has set up a helpline. If you have questions or concerns, you may call or email. We will do our very best to either answer your question or forward the question to the appropriate person. Regardless, we will do our best to address your concerns and answer questions. The email address to the helpline is helpline@concordschools.org and the helpline phone number is 870-668-4299. The hours for the helpline are Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you have a question outside of these hours, please feel free to call and leave a message or send an email, but allow until the next open day or 24 hours on the weekends to receive an answer. We will try this out and adjust accordingly.

  • AMI Packets: AMI packets may be picked up this week on Friday (April 10th) at the selected drop location (Concord Elementary, Concord High School, The Country Store (Drasco), Pam’s Quick Stop (Wilburn), Logan's General Store (Ida)) The AMI packets are in marked containers with your child's name on them. Completed AMI packets need to be returned at the same pick up location in the designated box. *Elementary does not have packets to be picked up this week unless the packet was not picked up last week. Last week’s packet included two weeks of AMI lessons.

  • Grading for the 4th Quarter: Fourth quarter grading will be calculated using a combination of the 3rd quarter grade and the completion of AMI work. It is imperative that AMI work be completed and returned. For the students completing work electronically, please submit assignments by the end of each week. If your child is completing a paper AMI packet and you cannot return it to the drop location, you may take a picture of your child's completed work and email it to your child's teacher. Email addresses are available on the school website or may be requested through the helpline.

  • Virtual Learning: For those parents and/or students interested in who want to enroll in the virtual learning opportunity, the student may be enrolled in their current classes through Edgenuity. These classes are provided virtually and consist of a recorded teaching and a simple assignment to assess the student's comprehension of the information. While this is not a 'live' teaching, it will provide continued instruction. If you or your student is interested, please contact the district's helpline as soon as possible. You may also submit further questions regarding virtual learning to the helpline.

  • Meals: We will continue providing meals on Mondays to the families who requested meals. These meals are available to any student age 18 or younger. If you previously did not receive meals and would like to begin receiving meals, please call or email the helpline. We will get you added and set up a pick up location. Receiving or not receiving these meals does not help or hurt the district's funding.

  • Student Enrollment: If you or someone you know has a child who needs to enroll in the Concord School District, please contact the helpline and the district will reach out directly to determine the best and safest manner in which to complete enrollment.

We know this is a lot of information. The district is working hard to do what is best for all of us. If you have any need or question, please feel free to reach out. Take care of yourselves and each other. Much love and many prayers to our Pirate Nation!!
