NEWS RELEASE

Notice is hereby given that the Concord School District participates in the Public School Choice program (Act 560 of 2015).

Arkansas school law gives options to parents that wish to send their children to schools that adjoin other districts.  This is called public school choice and all schools in the area must participate.

If you are living out of the Concord School District and are interested in having your children attend the Concord School District, you must fill out a form from the Superintendent’s office before May 1, 2019.

You would only have to do this if your house is out of the district or you have not obtained a legal transfer in the past.

Students admitted under this policy shall be entitled to continued enrollment until they graduate or are no longer eligible for enrollment in the district’s schools.  Exceptions to this may include without limitation the capacity of a program, class, grade level, or school building.

In compliance with federal nondiscrimination laws, the Concord Public School District does not discriminate in employment and education practices relative to race or national origin (Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964), disability (section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1975) and Title II of the Americans with Disabilities Act), gender (Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972), or age (The Age Discrimination Act of 1975).  The contact person for all the above civil rights areas is the Superintendent of Schools, Concord Public School District, 10920 Heber Springs Road North, Concord, Arkansas 72523, phone (870)668-3844.
